This was all part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Servent event hosted by the local Alpha Phi Alpha Alumni chapter.

From 10-Noon the men worked inside the West Alabama Food Bank putting together boxes of food to be distributed to the community. Each box contained items such as rice, milk, juices, beans, raisins, and more.

Shelton State Community College Men's Basketball Senior Antonio Thomas was happy to volunteer for the day of service.

"This is something we always do. Helping the community" Said Thomas. "It's nothing for us to lend a hand to those in need."

Mister Stillman College Ronnie Williams who is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha attended the day of service and did his part to help out the West Alabama Food Bank.

"It's always good to serve the community, that's what it's about. First of all, servants of all, we shall transcend all." Said Williams, quoting the fraternity's motto.
