Cheers to These Little Entrepreneurs at SouthCoast Lemonade Day 2023
Thanks to the help of BayCoast Bank, the 8th Annual SouthCoast Lemonade Day was a huge success on Saturday. With close to 50 lemonade stands registered through the official Lemonade Day website, little entrepreneurs from all over the SouthCoast set up shop and were slinging lemonade in the pouring rain to learn the value of a dollar and give some hard-earned money away to meaningful charities.
What Is Lemonade Day?
Lemonade Day is a free, fun, and experiential learning program that teaches kids how to start, own, and operate their own businesses.
The goal is to empower children to take ownership of their lives and become productive members of society.
The kids get to keep all the money they raise and are encouraged to spend some, share some, and save some.
Lemonade Day 2023
This year’s Lemonade Day saw its fair share of little entrepreneurs spreading their wealth. 6-year-old twins from Westport, Greycen and Grant Pacheco, decided to raise money for their best friend, Mona, who has Down Syndrome, allowing her to sign up for programs of her choosing. Their incredible effort raked in almost five thousand dollars!
Then there was the Fall River teen who dedicated his lemonade stand to his grandmother who is battling cancer. It was a selfless act and he’s been doing it since he was 8 years old.
These are just a few examples of the incredible effort that these children put into Lemonade Day.
Fun 107 would like to extend a special Thank You to JT Realty Insurance Group, Somerset Country Wine & Spirits, A&M Driving School, Precix Inc, the committee to elect Bruce Oliveira to New Bedford School Committee, and 7-11 in Mattapoisett for making Lemonade Day possible.
