PICTURES: Mainer Describes National Television Debut
I will say that being on a nationally televised show is very, very crazy.
Back in August of 2022, I was approached by Bob. Bob had done some house painting for me over the years. His son Sean and I knew each other from some segments he'd done to promote his band on the radio with me. Now, his son was the casting director of the Fox show, I Can See Your Voice. Bob asked if I wanted to be on it. I said sure, and had no idea what I was getting myself into.
The guy over my left shoulder with the hat on is Sean. This crew was so nice, and I had no idea what I was doing. They flew me out to Atlanta, where Trilith Studios is. But for the rehearsal part, we stayed in a hotel and practiced. This is me practicing the 'choreography' for my elimination song, "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis. Oh, I was on an Elvis-themed episode.
As you can see, I needed a lot of help.
From there, it was back home, and another flight to Atlanta in early November 2022, this time for the taping at Trilith Studios. We're talking hair, makeup, wardrobe, the whole nine yards!
When the show was done taping, I flew back to Maine the next day, and waited. And waited. And waited.
I Can See Your Voice Season 3 started in January of 2024, 18 months later! But alas, the season was chopped into two sections, and the second half started on Thursday, May 16, 2024, with the Elvis episode. The one that I was on. Here is my part of the show!
It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I have heard from people I went to grade school with! It's been a crazy, fun experience ,and the end of my non-existent singing career! Thanks to everyone who came to the watch party ,and a big shoutout to Pizzaiolo for the amazing pies!
