Quincy Herald Whigs 20 Under 40 class has been announced, and our very own Mark Hespen is on this year's list.

Each year the Quincy Herald-Whig, in conjunction with the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce, the Hannibal Chamber of Commerce, and the Quincy Young Professionals honor 20 individuals in the Tri-States that are leaders in their community. This year our very own Mark Hespen is part of that list.

The 20 Under 40 list was released in yesterday's paper, and KICK FM's Mark Hespen is on the list for being a leader in the Quincy community. In his short time living in Quincy, Mark has dove headfirst into becoming a leader in Quincy. Co-hosting a morning show (with me) entertaining, information, and making people smile as they start (or end) their day. Volunteering with the Quincy Community Theatre, and have had major roles in the last few productions. Make sure you get your tickets for Disney's Beauty & the Beast (Mark plays the beast), and also just being out in the community with his positive attitude.

Since 2007, Quincy Herald-Whig has been honoring individuals who make our community a better place to live. Last Thursday all 2021 honorees were honored with an award, a pin, and honored for the night as making a difference in their community. There were teachers, superintendents, business owners, marketing specialists, doctors, and more. Congrats to everyone who made the 20 Under 40 list this year, your leadership and dedication to your community will only make a future for my children even better.

Personally, I am honored to be able to work with Mark every day. I have learned so much from him and much as I have taught him a little about the broadcasting business. We have a very close relationship, and I consider him "my big little brother." I am so proud of what Mark has done in his short time here in Quincy, and I can't wait to see what he does next.
